Mishary Rashid Alafasy is born on September 5th, 1976, Mishary Rashid Alafasy or full for Mishary Rashid Ghareeb Mohammed Rashid Al-Afasy (also nicknamed Abu Nora ), is an eminent and prolific Imam and an excellent Qur’an reciter hailing from Kuwait. The Holy Quran was the subject of this Imam’s keen interest and learning and hence, it came as no surprise when he memorized the Book of Allah in a few years itself.Besides his melodious and emotional voice, he has managed to grab the attention of the bigwigs in the field of Islamic knowledge such as Sheikh Ibrahim Ali Shehata Al-Samanodi, the Sheikh Abdur Area Radwan, and also the great sheikh Ahmed Abdulaziz Al-Zaiat.The next step was his decision to pursue his higher education at the Islamic and Quranic university of Madinah, Saudi Arabia. The two famous links of the recitation of the Quran: TV Alafasy and Alafasy Q are managed by this great Imam and rightfully so. In a similar manner, numerous TV channels and radio stations have taken pride in broadcasting all his highly commendable productions. Currently, Mishary Rashid Alafasy is leading the prayers as an Imam at Masjid Al-Kabir in Kuwait.

4.Omar Suleiman
Imam Omar Suleiman is the Founder and President of the Yaqeen Institute for Islamic Research and a professor of Islamic Studies at Southern Methodist University. He’s also the resident scholar of the Valley Ranch Islamic Center, and Co-Chair of Faith Forward Dallas at Thanks-Giving Square, a multi-faith alliance for peace and justice. Originally from New Orleans, LA, he began his journey of traditional Islamic learning in the year 2000 and has spent years studying in the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Malaysia, etc. Upon becoming certified in various traditional sciences, he completed a Bachelor’s degree in Islamic law, a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, a Master’s degree in Islamic Finance, a Master’s Degree in Political History, and is in the process of completing his PhD from the International Islamic University of Malaysia in Islamic Thought and Civilization. His career started in his hometown of New Orleans where he served as the Imam of the Jefferson Muslim Association in New Orleans for 6 years and directed the ICNA Relief “Muslims for Humanity” Hurricane Katrina Relief effort. It was in this time that he was noted on a national level as being a strong advocate of community service, interfaith dialogue, and social justice. He co-founded the East Jefferson Interfaith Clergy Association and was awarded for his outstanding civic achievement by the Mayor and City Council of New Orleans in 2010. He then moved to Dallas and became the Resident Scholar of the Valley Ranch Islamic Center in 2013 and more recently, Co-Chair of Faith Forward Dallas at Thanks-Giving Square. In Dallas, he has been a noted leader and voice for peace, and has partaken as a representative of the Muslim Community in many city functions. He has since been a guest at various national functions to share his experiences in community building. Shaykh Omar most recently founded the Yaqeen Institute for Islamic Research which is a think tank that focuses on instilling conviction based on Islamic texts, and producing contribution. He also founded M.U.H.S.E.N (Muslims Understanding and Helping Special Education Needs), a nonprofit umbrella organization serving the community to establish a more inclusive “Special Friendly” environment for our Brothers & Sisters of all Disabilities.

7.Nouman Ali Khan
Nouman Ali Khan is the founder and CEO of Bayyinah and serves as a lead instructor for several programs including Dream, traveling seminars and Bayyinah TV. His serious Arabic training began in the U.S. in 1999 under Dr. Abdus-Samie, founder and former principal of Quran College in Faisalabad, Pakistan. Khan served as a professor of Arabic at Nassau Community College until 2006 when he decided to take Bayyinah on as a full-time project. Since then he has taught more than 10,000 students through traveling seminars and programs. He currently resides in Dallas, Texas and is focusing on teaching his students, developing Arabic curricula and filming material for Bayyinah TV. Nouman Ali Khan, who was of Pakistani descent and was born in Germany on May 4, 1978, spent his early years in the former East Berlin. Khan attended the Pakistan Embassy school from second through eighth grade while his father was employed by the Pakistani Embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Khan was a teenager when his father decided to relocate the family to New York.

10.Hamza Yusuf
Hamza Yusuf is a cofounder of Zaytuna College, located in Berkeley, California. He is an advisor to Stanford University’s Program in Islamic Studies and the Center for Islamic Studies at Berkeley’s Graduate Theological Union. He also serves as vice-president for the Global Center for Guidance and Renewal, which was founded and is currently presided over by Shaykh Abdallah bin Bayyah, one of the top jurists and masters of Islamic sciences in the world. Recently, Hamza Yusuf was ranked as “the Western world’s most influential Islamic scholar” by The 500 Most Influential Muslims. Hamza Yusuf has also authored several encyclopedia articles and research papers. His published books include The Burda (2003), Purification of the Heart (2004), The Content of Character (2004), The Creed of Imam al-Tahawi (2007), Agenda to Change our Condition (2007), Walk on Water (2010), and The Prayer of the Oppressed (2010). Shaykh Hamza was born in Washington State and raised in Northern California. In 1977, he became Muslim and subsequently traveled to the Muslim world and studied for ten years in the U. A. E., Saudi Arabia, as well as North and West Africa. He received teaching licenses in various Islamic subjects from several well-known scholars in various countries. After ten years of studies abroad, he returned to the USA and earned degrees in Religious Studies and Health Care. He has traveled all over the world giving talks on Islam. He also founded Zaytuna Institute which has established an international reputation for presenting a classical picture of Islam in the West and which is dedicated to the revival of traditional study methods and the sciences of Islam. Shaykh Hamza is the first American lecturer to teach in Morocco’s prestigious and oldest University, the Qarawiyin in Fes. In addition, he has translated into modern English several classical Arabic traditional texts and poems. Shaykh Hamza currently resides in Northern California with his wife and five children.
11.Yasir Qadhi
Yasir Qadhi was born in Houston, Texas and completed his primary and secondary education in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. He graduated with a B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Houston, after which he was accepted as a student at the Islamic University of Madinah. After completing a diploma in Arabic, he graduated with a B.A. from the College of Hadith and Islamic Sciences. Thereafter, he completed a M.A. in Islamic Theology from the College of Dawah, after which he returned to America and completed his doctorate, in Religious Studies, from Yale University. Currently he is teaching at Rhodes College, in Memphis, TN.

Yasmin Mogahed received her B.S. Degree in Psychology and her Masters in Journalism and Mass Communications from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. After completing her graduate work, she taught Islamic Studies and served as a youth coordinator. She also worked as a writing instructor at Cardinal Stritch University and a staff columnist for the Islam section of InFocus News. Currently she’s an instructor for AlMaghrib Institute, a writer for the Huffington Post, an international speaker, and author, where she focuses most of her work on spiritual and personal development. 15.Malek Shaiba Alhamd
Malek Shaiba Alhamd is the Quran reciter par excellence and of the highest repute, he was admitted into this world in 1983 in Egypt. Like most reciters from Egypt, after completing his elementary education, Shaykh Malek too set foot into the famous Al Azhar Institute where he received formal education from the praiseworthy Sheikh Ayman Shawki. This was succeeded by procuring certification according to Hafs A’n Assem’s recitation from Al Shatibiyyah and the Sanad to our beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, not to forget a word of high appreciation from Sheikh Muhammad Jibril on having witnessed his recitation of the Holy Quran. Sheikh Malek Shaiba Alhamd stepped into his professional world by taking up Imamate in Al Mahrousa mosque in Mohandessin, in Al Tawheed mosque in Shubra, in Al-Qadi Yahya mosque in Helmeih among a list of others.

Muhammad Tim Humble is from Newcastle & graduated from the famous faculty of hadeeth and Islamic Studies at the Islamic University of Madinah in 2011. Ustadh Tim Humble is a British revert, who has ijaza in the six famous books of hadeeth. He is also experienced in the field of Ruqyah, the Islamic method of healing with the Quran, specializing in treatment for black magic and evil eye. He accepted Islam at the age of 14 & is currently involved with a dawah organisation called IDC North East which is based in & around Newcastle. Tim Humble became interested in Islam during Religious Education classes in Primary School. After researching it further on the internet he accepted Islam at the age of 14. Thereafter he went through a period of 4-5 years where he struggled to implement and practice his new-found faith. The Muslim community in his hometown was unwelcoming and unhelpful to New Muslims. In his own words, “One of the biggest problems we have in the Ummah is that we are excellent at selling the religion; we’re great salesmen…What we’re really, really rubbish at is keeping them in Islam once they become Muslim.” A suggestion by a friend sparked the idea of studying in the Islamic University of Madinah. During his first Hajj pilgrimage he applied to and was accepted into the University. He graduated from the Faculty of Hadeeth Studies in 2011. Notably he memorized and is certified in the six canonical works of hadeeth. He is currently involved with a Da’wah organisation called ‘IDC North East’ which is based in & around Newcastle. The Ustadh is married with 3 kids & is the founder of Humble Foundation.

Sheikh Abdulhadi Bin Ahmad Kanakeri was born in Syria. At a very young age, the Sheikh memorized the Qur’an with utmost zeal and enthusiasm. His teachers include Sheikh Ahmad Kaftaro, the Mufti of the Syrian Arabic Republic and his father, Sheikh Ahmad Kanakeri who had a deep impact on the Sheikh’s talents and also worked on setting the unshakeable foundations towards higher goals and achievements. Sheikh Kanakeri obtained his doctorate in the Science of Readings from Pakistan. Thereafter, the Sheikh sought his way in the sciences of Qur’anic Readings and Tarteel. The Sheikh served as a professor at the Faculty of the Prince Sultan of Health Sciences in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. He also worked as an Imam in the mosque of Abu Bakr Siddiq until 1430 Hijrah in addition to being the imam at various mosques, within and beyond Syria. Furthermore, he leads the Taraweeh salaah in many mosques as well. Sheikh Abdulhadi Kanakeri has a huge audio library which comprises of his recorded readings of the mosques and institutions that he worked for, few of which are available online and are broadcasted in specialized Quranic TV channels. This also includes his Qur’anic recitations.

Having successfully memorized the Quran at a tender age of 8, Shaykh Muslim got his education of the Quran from the Azhar school which set his foot firmly into the Islamic world of Quran Riwayat. Sheikh Muslim left for his heavenly abode, aged 66, albeit with a plethora of recordings and work that can be of benefit to millions of young Muslim learners.

Zaki Daghistani is born in 1925. Sheikh Mohammed Zaki Bin Omar Daghistani is a native of Saudi Arabia, brought up in Makkah and has been blessed with a unique and mesmerizing psalmody along with being an amazing scholar. A major setback in the form of a visual handicap at the age of one made way for an immense show of determination and hard work to successfully manage the Hifdh of Qur’an and the nuances of Tajweed. Sheikh Ahmad Al Hijazi even certified him according to Hafs A’n Assem recitation method which paved way for teaching as a professor designated by the ministry of Ma’arif of Saudi Arabia in a Quranic School. After battling Parkinson’s disease for a long time, Shaykh Zaki took his last breath in July 2004 and was buried in the Mualla cemetery in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.
