Portugal har en socialdemokratisk regering, er en atlanterhavsstat, har grøn omstilling og inklusion som hovedprojekt og næsten ingen udtalt populisme. I januar 2021 overtager Portugal formandskabet for EU's ministerråd, og det lille land i Europas sydvestlige hjørne har ambitiøse planer.

Ana Paula Zacarias, den portugisiske statssekretær og viceminister for europæiske anliggender, er i studiet med Det Udenrigspolitiske Selskabs direktør Charlotte Flindt Pedersen.

Portugal has a social democratic government, is an Atlantic state, sees green transition and inclusion as their main project and has hardly any political populism. In January 2021 Portugal will take over the presidency of the Council of the European Union, and the small country in the southwestern corner of Europe has ambitious plans.
