Dreams of Consciousness Podcast Episode 263 features an interview with Kåre André Sletteberg of In The Woods...
Emerging from Norway alongside black metal's infamous second wave, In The Woods... were practically a genre unto themselves. Their early experimental and classically-inspired albums were a big influence on the avant and progressive metal scenes that coalesced throughout the Nineties.
I spoke with guitarist Kåre André Sletteberg about his musical background, and why In The Woods... don't write songs with a specific intention. We also discussed why the band's songs change so much during the writing and recording process, and what makes their latest album Diversum unique.
My thanks again to Kåre for speaking with me, and to you for listening.
