When she was 6 years old, Agafia's father became convinced that their family was being hunted by Russians, so he packed up the whole family and escaped into the Siberian wilderness - hundreds of kilometres from any other humans. Agafia is now 76, the rest of her family has died, and she is still living - alone - in the tiny hut her father built back in the 1950s. She has only left her home a total of six times in her entire life, and if not for being discovered by chance in the 80s, nobody would ever even have known she was there.
