A medical doctor working in psychiatry, Dr Kieran Kennedy sees firsthand the absolute importance in advocating for mental health, and as such is fast becoming a leading voice in the field.

Through completion of 15 years’ worth of studies in Psychology, Human Physiology and Medicine/Surgery, Dr Kennedy has built a dual appreciation for the health of body and mind combined. Having spent the bulk of the pandemic working as a psychiatrist in emergency rooms for Melbourne’s hospital system, Kieran then transitioned to more frontline work, administering COVID-19 vaccines.

In this episode of the podcast, recorded during an ongoing lockdown in both VIC and NSW, Kieran delivers some expert tips for safeguarding your mental health and looking out for those around you. We also pick his medical brain regarding some of the crazier rumours circulating on the pandemic and the vaccines, and why it’s his saint-like patience that has got him through the past year.

This episode of the podcast deals with themes of anxiety and depression. If you, or someone you know, is struggling with their mental health, chat to a medical professional and reach out to a support hotline:
