Kate Morris - The Woman in the Arena

Not an Overnight Success
Not an Overnight Success

This is a podcast where we sit down with some very successful people from the world of business, entertainment and sport to chat about their life’s journey and what got them to the position that they’re in today.

In today’s episode we are chatting with entrepreneur and business woman Kate Morris.

Kate Morris founded Adore beauty, Australia’s first online cosmetics retailer in 1999 when online shopping was hardly a thing. She’s always someone that had vision.

She didn’t always thrive at work. In fact, she was fired from not one but two jobs in her early years and that when she realised that maybe she could do something for herself.

Kate’s understanding of consumer psychology and what people wanted out of an experience led her to turning a $12,000 loan from her boyfriend’s dad into a listed company on the ASX with a company worth well over a hundred million dollars.

Kate has remained grounded and she’s very open about it not ever being about the money.

She’s got some experience in what it takes to be a successful business woman, and it most certainly didn’t happen overnight.

As for all of these podcasts, Shaw and Partners have generously donated $10k to the charity of choice of each of our guests. We discuss who that money goes to in this chat.
