When three separate explosions rocked the popular tourist hotspot of Kuta on the night of October 12, 2002, the ensuing chaos in the streets was echoed back in Australia. As the AFP learned of the devastation, they quickly assembled expert investigative and forensic teams, as well as victim identification, media, and family liaison units to deploy to the crime scenes. In doing so, they began one of the most significant and life-changing operations in AFP history.
