Man Parrish Deep Dive Interview

With hits like Hip Hop, Be Bop (Don't Stop), and Boogie Down (Bronx), Man Parrish's stripped-down early hip-hop/electro music was to prove influential, and his single Male Stripper with Man 2 Man was to be his biggest hit.
His childhood was far from easy. He suffered parental abuse, & sexual abuse. He left home at 13. He was 14 when he first went to Studio 54, lying about his age to get in. He was among the most creative people of that era. Andy Warhol named him. He was friends with the Club Kids leader, Michael Alig, who later spent 15 years in jail for murder. He was ripped off by one manager and earned nothing.
Man Parrish's life is not for the faint-hearted. He's forthright, he doesn't hold back and this is the wildest ride of an interview I have ever experienced. In many ways, this interview is a fast ride through the 1980s.
