Alphonse left Lygon St and went to the Richmond Hotel to attend the wake of a dearly departed. He drank and punted until midnight, leaving for a party in St Kilda.
As two partygoers left, they saw Alphonse out the front, his blood boiling amidst a verbal tirade he was unleashing on a man named Greg Workman over a perceived debt.
When it became evident Greg didn’t have the money, Alphonse decided on a different approach. He unloaded a pistol into Greg Workman instead…
