True Crime All The Time Unsolved

The Lava Lake Murders

In April 1924, three fur trappers from Bend, Oregon, were found floating in the recently thawed Big Lava Lake. The men were attacked and were fatally shot. The three trappers were 50-year-old Ed Nichols, 35-year-old Roy Wilson, and 25-year-old Dewey Morris.

Join Mike and Gibby as they discuss the mysterious Lava Lake murders. One suspect was arrested but never convicted of the three murders. The Lava Lake murders remain one of Oregon's oldest unsolved cases. Much of the evidence pointed towards this man named Charles Kimzey, who was wanted for serious crimes in many states. But, by the time police caught up to him, many of the witnesses were no longer certain about their identifications.
