At 24 years old Jessica Ghawi was a respected up-and-comer in the world of sports journalism. She is described as vivacious, kind, and driven.
During a trip to Toronto, Jessica narrowly escaped a shooting at the Eaton Centre. After returning home to Denver, Jessica reflected on her experience in Toronto. She wrote a public blog about the blessings of life and family.
Tragically, just 7 weeks later, Jessica would face gun violence again.
In the wake of Jessica’s death, her parents Lonnie and Sandy have dedicated their lives to helping other families who have been affected by gun violence.
