About this podcast

Are you a parent who doesn't want to use controlled crying for your baby, but not sure what your options might be as you find yourself sheltering in the home and severely sleep deprived during the COVID-19 pandemic? Are you wanting to breastfeed for the protective effects but unsure how long you can keep going on because of nipple pain or a distressed baby at the breast? Does your baby cry a lot inside the house so that you worry for your own mental health? Dr Pamela Douglas is founder of Neuroprotective Developmental Care (NDC or 'the Possums programs'), a new, integrated, evidence-based approach to breastfeeding, sleep, and cry-fuss problems in the first 12 months of life. NDC is developed from more than 20 research publications and aims to grow enjoyment in early life, even in these most extraordinary times, based on the principles of evolutionary biology. In these podcasts, Dr Pamela Douglas joins with others to discuss the implications of the pandemic for women and their babies, and why now more than ever parents need a biologically-aligned approach to infant care.
