Sgt. Gander
This episode is dedicated to my departed Newfoundland pup Boris, who would have been 11 on Dec. 31, 2022.
Sgt. Gander was a Newfoundland dog beloved by the members of his regiment. During the Battle of Hong Kong, this "Black Devil" as the Japanese called him, saved the lives of several of his comrades and earned his place in history.
