Mary Robinson is one of the most inspiring women political leaders of her generation. In 1990 in a country where women were still largely treated as second class citizens, she was elected the seventh and first female President of Ireland, serving for seven years after which she served as United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights and has continued to use her platform to campaign for human rights, women’s rights and climate justice.
