Strong winds deny Akani Simbine and Gift Leotlela new records at the 2021 Sizwe Medical Fund ASA Senior Track & Field and Combined Events Championships in Pretoria on Thursday.
Simbine stormed to victory in the 100m with a season leading time of 9.82 secs (+2.8m/s), with the 0.8m/s wind over the legal limit ruling it out from being a new South African record.
In one of the other semi-finals at the Tuks Athletics Stadium, Gift Leotlela raced to victory in 9.94 secs (+3.6m/s) but the windy track also denied him a new legal sub-10 second mark.
