Post -partum care for Mums is so vital, but can more often than not be overlooked or cut short. This week, we're focussing on care after baby and the help out there. Jo Bealey is a post-partum doula and wellbeing coach and joins Anna on this week's podcast.
Jo and Anna talk about why Jo wanted to go into this area of work, feeling lost after giving birth in a remote aboriginal community, the notion of a village raising a child, breastfeeding, having a v-back, her process of working with mums, being a sounding board, relationship struggles after birth and raising awareness of the people out there to help you once the baby arrives.
Jo has also recently decided to put her wealth of knowledge into training post-partum doulas, teaching how to support new mums and their mental health. If you're interested do get in touch with her!
