This week on Breaking Mum and Dad, we have a lady who is not afraid to express herself. Literally.
After a great pregnancy, actress and singer Jo Bowis went through a pretty traumatic birth which was followed by the disappointment of not being able to breastfeed exclusively. But, she soldiered on breast-pumping, and decided to document her expressing journey through pictures. She now has a book out about that journey, 'Express Yourself. A Mamoir', and an exhibition showing these photographs.
Jo talks Anna through her labour, traumatic birth, thinking her birth was normal, the feeling of seeing her son for the first time, her lack of milk, the importance of getting her baby to latch, feeling judged for not breastfeeding her baby, internal pressures, sharing her pumping with the worlan d getting sent unsolicited dick pics.
