In honor of Record Store Day (and a belated Rex Manning Day), we're talking about vinyl in this episode! You know, those things your parents had in milk crates that now you see hipsters walking around with. Emily also talks to James and her husband about their new podcast, Unskippable!

This episode's wine: The Art of the Vintage Rotation 2011 Merlot, Napa, California

This episode's cheese: Havarti

If you're wondering what Record Store Day is, don't worry, we explain it, and Emily talks about her experience standing in line waiting for the record store would open, which is a pretty fun experience. We talk about the joys of reading liner notes and lyrics in albums.

If you're celebrating Record Store Day this year, let us know! We'd love to see your pictures! Send them to classypodcast@gmail.com or tweet at us at @classy_podcast.

James talks about the history of recording sound, but Emily steers him onto other tangents, like the game Timeline and parrots. Also, you'll find out what Emily thought Clair de Lune was about, and how wrong she really was. James also tells us about Charles Cross, who had two great ideas ... and one really questionable one.

If you'd like to see the picture of James wearing his backward clothes, we need 50 requests, apparently!

Getting more into the crazy history of recording, James talks about George Washington Johnson, one of the first recording artists, and his incredibly racist, self-mocking hit song. But we love the story of his life and we raise our glasses to him in this episode.

Emily's "natural" transition to her segment from George Washington Johnson to "Empire Records" is pretty great. However, it was considered a flop and Emily has some behind-the-scenes trivia about the movie that was a staple at high school slumber parties, and probably one of her favorite soundtracks. She also comes up with a great name for her next cat, Rex Manning.

James tells us about the Voyager gold record, and get ready for four -- count 'em, FOUR! -- "Star Wars" puns from Emily. We also talk about the plot of an episode of "Martin" and alien smut. Even though James brings up a funny SNL skit from Steve Martin, he still won't admit that his King Tut song is funny -- listen to our Cheers to Comedy episode to hear more.

Emily gives some tips about properly maintaining your record collection while James takes notes. And, find out where the word "pun" comes from!

Plus, Emily confronts her husband, Mark, and James about their new podcast, "Unskippable." Find out James' rap name, the merits of hate-listening and why James sneaks into Emily's house late at night. You can find them at unskippablepod.com and on Twitter at @unskippablepod.
