Arron Acosta and Ken Gray of Rise Robotics, talk all about an innovative new connected hydraulic solution for the mobile equipment sector that is set to reduce carbon emissions with host Peter Haddock

PODCAST WITH INSIGHT: Joining Peter Haddock for this Content With Media podcast, sponsored by our friends at used equipment specialist Ritchie Bros. is Arron Acosta and Ken Gray.

Arron is the CEO and Ken is Vice President of Rise Robotics, which has developed new innovative & connected hydraulic solutions for the construction sector, that is set to dramatically improve performance, reliability and carbon emissions.

The savings are electric as the technology replaces the traditional hydraulic system with an electromechanical, fluid-free alternative that uses 65-90% less power to push or pull loads.

Arron and Ken talk about overcoming the barriers that have prevented innovation in the sector that uses one electromechanical component to raise the load and then put the energy back when it is lowered.

There is no heat generation so it can be air-cooled and it has the potential to reduce maintenance costs dramatically, not to mention the fact it’s fast, very light and the system talks to you, because it’s a connected device.

Arron "It's the return of the old cable design with a new technological twist that reduces energy consumption"

Now is the time for this technology, as there is a much greater increase in hydraulic demand from machines today, due to more attachments like tiltrotators being used. With hydraulic capability set to continue to increase, the energy savings are potentially huge.
