The Effects of the Coronavirus on Gender Equality

In this podcast my classmate, Khalid and I explore the implications of the effect of the coronavirus on gender equality. We delve into canonical texts written by Freud, Simone de Beauvoir, and Emma Goldman. We consider countries such as China, who through propaganda have put on the facade of gender equality, by "commemorating" their female essential workers, but it only appears as such on the surface. We also discuss China's past one-child policy and connect this to texts written hundreds of years ago, discussing their everlasting impacts in our present society. Throughout this, we relay general themes that are most prevalent within gender inequality to our personal experiences. Join us to hear talks of revolution as a possible solution to the ever-growing inequality between sexes. Is a revolution considered anarchism or does that depend on the eyes of the beholder? In what other ways can we close the gap between men and women? Tune in to hear more!
