Kyler Nachtigall never grew up around aviation and never really had an interest in becoming a pilot. It wasn’t until he spent some time on the west coast as a member of the Men’s Varsity Hockey Team at the University of British Columbia, where he took atmospheric science courses with applications to flying while spending his time surfing and admiring the seaplanes in Vancouver Harbor. Kyler chose to withdraw from UBC and pursue a career as a pilot, doing his private training out of Boundary Bay Airport, then his commercial and Multi IFR with Mount Royal University. After doing a summer season of float flying out in NW Ontario, he now flies for Wilderness Seaplanes on Vancouver Island.
