We talk budget cycles, building commissioning, energy codes, building material specification, project verification, and market trends in the sustainable built environment. Myths about building certifications and costs are debunked and we take a look at consumer expectations in 2019. Recent billion dollar LEED projects in the Milwaukee area are highlighted including the home of the Milwaukee Bucks at the Fiserv Forum, the Northwestern Mutual building. With low unemployment rates, facilities that attract Millennial and Gen Z employees will help improve employee attraction, engagement, and retention. Other regional LEED projects highlighted include the Minnesota Twins Stadium, the Minnesota Vikings Stadium, the Milwaukee Brewers, the Atlanta Falcons stadium, Philadelphia Eagles stadium and other sports organizations part of the Green Sports Alliance. We also cover topics related to sustainable buildings and building occupant wellbeing, environmental product declarations and health product declarations and how to make buildings healthier. We even discuss career options in sustainability, manufacturing and the building industry and how Wisconsin is an emerging leader in sustainability in the manufacturing sector.
