E106: The Austin Axe Murderer

This week Beth and Wendy have a present for y’all, a mystery. We don’t usually cover unsolved cases, but this is our gift to you on this holiday. Today we are talking about the Austin Axe Murderer, an American presumably male identifying individual who was never captured or identified, but who murdered 8 people between December 30, 1884 – December 24, 1885. (note: time stamps are without ads & may be off a little) We open up our mailbag and thank y’all for supporting the show (5:28). We introduce our subject and share some stats (10:45), then we dive into the setting (14:50). Then we get into the timeline (31:41). Then, we get into the trials of some of the individuals suspected of some of the murders (57:54) and the theories about the case (1:01:50). We discuss our Takes (1:07:30) and some tips on how not to get murdered (1:15:35). As usual we close out the show with some shout outs (1:18:36). Happy holidays, y’all and thanks for listening! This is a weekly podcast and new episodes drop every Thursday, so until next time... look alive guys, it's crazy out there!
