Today, Finland is at the forefront of international peacekeeping efforts, but some may be surprised to learn about its violent history in the 20th century. Finland suffered through many wars and has had some of the highest rates of wartime casualties in history. Despite the odds being stacked against them, the Finns were incredibly resourceful and clever in their fight to protect their independence.
