🥳🥳🥳 HAPPY NEW YEAR 2021! 🥳🥳🥳

For my first episode of 2021, I was lucky enough to sit down with the AMAZING Mui Thomas! Mui is a rugby referee and a yoga instructor described online as being strong, charismatic, and capable. She was the winner of the 2016 Spirit of Hong Kong award - the highest public award in Hong Kong. She has also just recently been selected in the top 32 unstoppable women in rugby campaign headed by Asia Rugby.

Mui is also a pretty special referee and yoga instructor - that’s because she is the world's first rugby umpire and yoga instructor living with Harlequin Ichthyosis, a rare genetic skin disorder. In fact, she is one of only 20 known people in the world with the condition. As a result of her condition, Mui and her parents set up 'The Girl Behind The Face' - an initiative to help educate people on the disorder. The Girl Behind The Face challenges attitudes and raises awareness amongst the general public and decision-makers.

Mui is an inspiration to SO many - she is determined to make the most out of each and every day, chasing her aspirations as a rugby referee, yoga instructor, and working with people who have special needs. Mui has overcome insurmountable odds to be where she is today – and she does it with a smile, a laugh, and a “give it a go” attitude.

In this episode, we discuss the inclusivity of sport, empowerment, acceptance, and resilience. I hope you enjoy this episode with Mui!
