In this episode of Real Talk, I have the amazing opportunity to catch up with my former colleague and amazing physio (to me personally and to my clients) Dan Arthur.
Dan has been a great source of knowledge and wisdom to me and I so admire his approach to physiotherapy - so much so, I wanted to capture some of his thoughts surrounding what is working and what is not when it comes to helping people get better in their rehabilitation.
So often we look for 'easy' ways to deal with our issues including our own injuries. We search for passive methodologies such as massage in hopes that it will not only feel good, but that it will also address our needs. All too often, we end up using the same methodologies time and time again for prolonged periods without stopping to realise that if we keep using the same service and we are not seeing any improvement in our condition, perhaps the methodology isn't what is going to fix the problem at hand.
I love the lengths upon which Dan goes to educate his client and how he questions their thinking and highlights important distinctions we need to make in order to get well.
Such an important and powerful conversation, Dan is a hugely missed part of my professional network in Singapore and what a huge gain for the UK to have him there. Please be sure to connect with him in the following ways and as always, if you take value from this episode, leave us a rating and review
