In this week’s episode, I learn just how much you can connect with someone you hardly know. Turns out, the person next to you probably has more in common with you than you realize. Would you believe that I barely know Reece - I ‘social media’ know him and have been following his story and journey for some time though we have never crossed paths, that is, until now. The amazing space that was created in recording this episode left me just about in tears in admiration and appreciation for the acceptance that Reece displayed. Turns out, we have far more in common than I knew. In this episode, we cover the shared experience of seeing our previous ties and identity to sport die. We connect with the relatability of not knowing who we were without our respective sports and how we were able to re-build our identity without it being regular practice. Although not everyone who hears this will have a background as an elite level athlete, several listeners will have experienced an evolutionary change whether that be experiencing a mid-life crisis, entering parenthood, moving countries, injury or divorce. There is ample power in understanding what, how and why you identify yourself the way that you do and how you can re-shape and re-build that to serve you at every stage in life. Enjoy the episode and please be sure to share with us your biggest take-away. An enormous thank you to Reece for this powerful conversation, for your vulnerability and acceptance.
