Holy hell, you had better have your notebook out and ready to take notes because this gal drops some serious #truthbomb moments and I really do hope that her messages and words of wisdom reach you on a deep level because believe you me, there is  reason you keep yo-yo dieting, there is a reason why you keep ‘failing’ and there is a reason why you find yourself with the same problems time and time again.  Chances are, if you have the same problems you had yesterday, you are not working on the essence of your problems and I’m afraid to say, you cannot address those problems with any diet or approach to exercise.  No, it simply won’t do. 

This is where we have a heck of a lot of work to do in the health and fitness industry - mental health.  Our familiarity with the topic of mindset is one that is yet to evolve to the point of us easily drawing parallels between emotion and food, behaviours surrounding food as well as exercise and everything in between.  Have you ever paused to think about how the way you judge yourself impacts your health?  Me neither, well, not until really recently and it’s a topic so worth exploring.  Lauren shares great insights, ‘ah-‘ha moments and learnings over the course of the past 6 years for her.  i have had the great pleasure of training her and hearing all about her journey: what has worked, what she thought worked, what definitely didn’t work, what marketing lead her to believe would work (and likely didn’t), what actually feels good for her and what is working (even if unconventional or not currently being marketed) and so much more. 

Our conversation serves as a great reminder that it’s likely we don’t need more information.  It’s likely we don’t need more or different approaches.  It’s likely we have more than what we need, what we truly need help with is application and that’s where self appreciation and self love comes into play.  It’s likely that by taking a moment to connect with your body, you will know what feels good and true for you - not everyone loves running, yoga or 6am bootcamps which is something myself and Lauren certainly have in common and a lot of people aren’t ‘breakfast’ people! 

The number of gems and pearls of wisdom that Lauren drops in this episode is insane and please hear her when she says that there are no short cuts.  None.  Zippity zilch.  There is alignment and application and patience and repetition and that’s it.  That is it.  She is now 6 years into this chapter of her journey and she continues to evolve her mindset and approach as she learns more about how she can leverage her headspace to optimal health - not just physical health either. 

I am super damn proud of this gal and so very fortunate to have her share more about her learnings with me.  I do hope you enjoy hearing more about how she has stepping up to take back her power and allow herself to look after herself.
