Her song "I am a Girl" was the anthem for United Nations International Women's Day which took her all over the world. By her early teens, Tennille was already a global citizen, with her family originating from the island of Trinidad and Tobago. She talks about how being a global citizen shaped her world view, influenced her to live a life of service and to be an equality advocate.
