Vicky Gibbens speaks to Leroy Logan MBE, British author known for his significant contributions to policing in the United Kingdom. He was both a founding member of the Black Police Association and its chair for 30 years. He left the Metropolitan Police at the rank of superintendent having been involved in the Stephen Lawrence Inquiry, the inquiry into the killing of Damilola Taylor and the organisation of the London 2012 Olympics.

In 2020, Logan released his first book ‘Closing Ranks, My Life as a Cop’ which detailed his time as a senior police officer in London. In the winter of the 2020, a programme called Small Axe was aired on British television. Part three of the five part series, which dramatised Logan's time in the police service, aired on BBC One in the United Kingdom and Amazon Prime in the United States. Logan was played by the renowned actor John Boyega.
