Day 4 has come to a close and these songs are sounding better than ever.
As Kevin predicted in episode 1, each of these songs have really come to life within the last 24 hours.
Today, we started by adding acoustic and electric guitar tracks to two songs. We also tracked some keyboard layers and even threw a mandolin into the mix!
Today, all the pressure was on me when we put down some lead vocal tracks. Historically, this is my least favorite part of the creation process, but after watching a Bob Dylan documentary with Kevin a few days ago, I came out with a new perspective on what makes a good lead vocal line.
You don't have to necessarily be an incredible singer to create incredible songs! Performance is just as important (if not more) than pitch!
I also have to give a big shout out to Kevin's roommate, Emily Morales (Star Moles) for giving an incredible vocal performance on back up vox for my song, The Good Things, Too.
As day 4 comes to a close, I'm feeling great about where the EP is at this point. But I'm also sad that this process is coming to a close. I've learned so much over these last few days that I'll take with me along my musical journey.
Tune in tomorrow for one last installment of the Philly EP series :)
