He was my hero
He taught me things to keep me safe
From danger, never making me feel unsafe
He showed me to do my best
And I can´t stop being blessed
The first day when I used that fluffy uniform
my soul grew happy
Not many remind us, not many care
Every time our duty calls,
we could even go to rescue bears
I put my life at risk
But at the end of the day
I remember that we pledged
For freedom and justice for all
We are known as the ones who rescue cats
Who wear big red hats
My Maltese cross is a reminder that I lay down my life for your safety
In honor of those who sacrificed themselves for us
The sound of the siren alerts all my anatomy,
Wee-woo, woe-woo
The sensation of my nerves rising every bone in my spine
Through the smoke the bright stripe
They guide me towards the light.
The deadly fire behind me,
Waiting for us to play
I do not have the need of fear
The heat trying to invade my shield
to get inside my skin
really trying to break-in
It makes me feel warm
As hugs from a mother on a cold night.
So when I extend my gentle hand
Take it, and I will take you to your homeland.
