How To Just Get Through Your Day - Tips For Navigating Hard Times

Sometimes you need a little more than just recognizing what you're grateful for & just choosing to be happy to get through the really tough days. I'm sharing 7 suggestions on how to power through those really tough days & make it a tiny bit easier on yourself.

Show Notes:
Not every day of our lives is going to be rainbows & sunshine. I think we all know this to be true. And I know I speak a ton on being grateful & focusing on the silver lining moments so as not to push yourself into a funk or bad headspace or to even pull yourself out of the mood, but sometimes you need more backup to get through the really hard days.

Tough days take so much more energy than normal days, especially if you are struggling with depression or anxiety or something else that could be plaguing your mental health.

I have had some tough days lately, but thankfully mostly good ones. But this weekend I was dealing with some strong emotions & all I wanted to do was just get through the day. I would still point out what I was grateful for, but I wasn’t interested in making the most of the day or pushing myself to be better or stronger or more capable. I just needed to get through it. I needed to get on the other side of it so that I could get back to being my best self.

We all have really hard days, weeks, seasons of life & it can get tougher & tougher to navigate each day if those days continue to stack. It can start to feel neverending & hopeless. Which is why I thought it would be really important to give you some ideas to fall back on when all you need to do is get through your day without you falling apart.

Let me share with you 7 suggestions for you to try when you just need to get through your tough days as unscathed as possible:

  1. Acknowledge you’re having a tough day/season & that it’s ok
  2. Find someone you enjoy talking to & have a chat
  3. Complete tasks one at a time & give multitasking a break
  4. Try a little self-care (I know it’s cliche but it helps)
  5. Limit your exposure to toxic people
  6. Remind yourself you are not your problems or situations
  7. Find small things to look forward to at the ends of your days

Hopefully these suggestions are helpful to you! I understand the pain & effort it can take to just get through really rough days. But it’s better to find the best, more supportive way than one that just causes more drama & dissatisfaction.

Thank you again for listening & I hope this episode was helpful.
