Healing is very uncomfortable. It is a place of vulnerability, and transparency; and women, particularly Black women, need safe spaces for this type of deep inner healing to take place. As I prepare for 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘜𝘯𝘱𝘭𝘶𝘨 𝘞𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘯’𝘴 𝘙𝘦𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵 in a few weeks I wanted to have some conversation around this aspect of healing and safe spaces. The truth, is a lot of Black women have experienced deep hurt by what has been coined as safe spaces, and this has negatively affected their healing journey. In addition, some Black women don’t feel comfortable opening up and being vulnerable in order to facilitate their healing journey; or they are scared of the word healing because they may have a lot to unpack. Joining me on today's episode are my sisters, Taylor Banks and Atia Heals; discussing the topic 𝘞𝘩𝘺 𝘉𝘭𝘢𝘤𝘬 𝘸𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘯 𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘥 𝘴𝘢𝘧𝘦 𝘴𝘱𝘢𝘤𝘦𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨. We define what is a safe space, why these spaces are important, and holistic healing/wholeness among Black women. Got your notebooks and pens? Because you are going need it! You are in for a treat!
