Dossier 6 (Lee VanLuvender)

Status: Pending
It was December 4, 2007 in Long Pond, PA. A very cold day hovering at right around 25 degrees throughout. It was hunting season and 22-year-old Lee VanLuvender was headed into the woods of the Poconos off of Hypsie Gap Road to use up some deer tags. He left around 7am that morning and was found by another hunter in the area, at about 10am. Lee was lying on the ground outside of his jeep. He had been shot to death.

Law enforcement indicates that the evidence proves that it wasn’t a hunting accident. It was most certainly murder. The evidence also indicated that there was a shootout between Lee and at least one other individual. However, the exact number of perpetrators, the caliber of gun or guns AND the total number of guns used in the crime, have never been released to the public.

It has been almost 13 years and Lee’s family are no closer to answers. His son is now 15 years old - and still doesn’t know who killed his father.

Who would have wanted Lee dead? Why would they have wanted him dead? What transpired in the moments leading up to his death?

If you have any information about what happened to Lee, contact the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office, at (570) 517-3052.

Special thanks to Charlene (Lee’s mother)
