Why do we as a society find it so hard to be compassionate towards people with addictions? Why do we as individuals struggle to see addiction as a #mentalhealth issue and rather believe the media hype and demonisation of our fellow humans? Why are we still opting for imprisonment rather than empathy and treatment, when we know historically the war on drugs is failing and has failed?
