What tragedy and loss taught me about living, with Karen Lang

The Aging Project
The Aging Project

In this episode of The Aging Project podcast, we chat with Karen Lang about the importance of making space to connect with our authentic selves as we get older. In 2001, Karen’s life was irrevocably changed when her nine-year-old son Nathan died suddenly. In the years and depths of grief that followed, Karen began to look at life through a different lens, which ultimately led her to discover a new sense of purpose and meaning in her life. Karen is now a certified counsellor, reiki practitioner, energy healer, and intuitive mentor, who helps her clients to acknowledge and sit with their trauma and self-limiting beliefs and discover the strength and resilience of their true inner selves. She is also the author of two life-changing books, Courage and Moving Moments. In this moving, uplifting, and emotional discussion with Shelley, she shares her wisdom, experience, and advice.

Join Shelley for episode #9 of Season Two of The Aging Project Podcast, as she chats to Karen about:

● What ‘wisdom’ means to her
● How losing her son shook her entire belief system, and forced her to look at life in a
totally different way
How adopting a slower life in Italy changed her and helped her grieve
● The daily practice she recommends to help us focus our thoughts on the ‘now’, rather
than the future
● Why finding moments of stillness are so important
● Her tips for releasing patterns of self-judgement to find true self-love
● Why our ingrained focus on external appearances is so futile – and detrimental
● Energy healing, and how it can help us find a sense of wholeness on a physical, spiritual
and emotional level
● Ancestral healing – what it is, and how it can help us break free of toxic generational
patterns
● Why our body’s wisdom is something we need to start listening to
● Why discovering who you really are is not only a gift to yourself, but to everyone around
you too
