The Bible Speaks to You: Embracing the Mindset of Christ

066 – We Reap What We Sow

066 – The Law of the Harvest is at work in your life

Have you ever planted a garden? When you plant carrots, you get carrots. It's not a mystery. It's the law of the harvest.

The rules that govern the way a garden grows also apply to our spiritual life as well. Jesus often referred to seeds being planted and wheat being harvested.

In this week's episode, I talk about many of the laws of the harvest that are at work in our lives. These laws apply equally whether our thoughts and actions are good or bad.

  • We reap what we sow
  • How much you harvest depends on where you plant your seeds, your spiritual efforts
  • The harvest comes later, in a different season than the planting
  • You have to plant something for it to grow and you have to wait for it
  • You can't wait til the last minute and expect a harvest
  • We reap more than we sow. One kernel of corn produces much more
  • The harvest is proportionate: the more you sow, the more you reap and vice versa
  • You have to plant more than one seed. Plant enough for a crop
  • Why you shouldn't harvest everything, and/or share your harvest with others
  • What to do if you didn't have a good harvest
  • Don't compare your harvest to someone else's
