Autoimmune thyroid disease (Hashimoto’s) is the second-most prevalent autoimmune condition in the US. But far too many women--even those who are on Synthroid or another thyroid replacement hormone--don’t even realize that this hormone problem is a * symptom * of a deeper immune problem. Many of them aren’t even getting antibodies tested as part of thyroid testing.
