This episode was previously recorded on January 9th, 2023 for our clients. Here I discuss how for the first time in about 12 years, Emerging Markets flipped "positive" against technology, and will likely outperform US domestic markets on a RELATIVE basis in the foreseeable future. Relative strength measures the performance of one security in comparison to another. For example, how Microsoft is performing compared to the S&P 500, or how the U.S. Dollar is doing relative to the Euro. It doesn't promise positive gains. It just means if for example US markets are +10%; Emerging markets should be up slightly more. If Emerging markets are -5%; then we can anticipate US domestics to be down more than -5%. It's a relationship between two similar assets classes.

In this episode we return from a long break from interviews. Today we chat with Miguel Kudry, co-founder of L1 Advisors. L1 Advisors has an exciting web-based platform for investment advisors to advise clients their "on-chain" cryptocurrency holdings. The biggest dilemma for advisors up until now was helping clients without taking custody, and billing on those assets held away. Now advisors can send a trade suggestions and the client accepts or denies the transaction. By accepting, the client signs and authorizes the trade with Metamask, Trezor, Ledger, or Wallet Connect. Everybody knew Rick Kucera, trading badge RKT! Rick was fortunate to have formed great relationships with the best of the best on the trading floor. Mentored by Dick Handelsmann and Richard Carrigan, clearly the most successful traders and brilliant minds of the early 1970's. Rick had a successful career in the equity and index trading pits. He is "semi-retired" living in Tennessee, and sits on many Boards. While he envisioned a career playing basketball with the NBA, he has dedicated most of his life building connections and being a serial entrepreneur.  

Today we chat with Dan William a retired FBI Special Agent. Dan worked for 23 years with the FBI in forensic accounting and counter terrorism.. Dan continues to work in the private sector spending time in the dark web and chat rooms of cyber hackers. Dan works with business owners on a daily basis who've been the victim of a targeted cyber-attack. These companies are "frozen" after the attack as the network and data files have been encrypted and held hostage. Hackers request Bitcoin as the preferred method of payment for releasing an encryption key to unlock the files. Don't think for a moment only a few rogue hackers around the globe are holding computer data files hostage. Cyber-attacks is a big, lucrative business occasionally sponsored by a Nation State. Ransomware as a Service (RaaS) is actually a thing! Dan offers several tips on how to avoid being the victim of a cyber attack.  

Mark Oakley shares his story of growing up in a small farming community in downstate Illinois, population 1,100, to becoming a successful broker at the Chicago Board Options Exchange.
