On this episode of the Bodcast we are honoured to be joined by Victoria Felkar to discuss the menstrual cycle.
Victoria is an amazing educator and researcher, working across a multitude of fields from kinesiology to sport medicine and the humanities. She is currently working on her doctorate on Women’s health and female hormone manipulation within sport medicine.
Whilst we are in the 21st Century, it is mind blowing how little we still know about the menstrual cycle and that in many places it is a taboo topic. We have wanted to have a professional to discuss this topic for some time as we feel it is so important for men and women to know more.
Victoria takes us step by step through the menstrual cycle, talking through the hormones, what is healthy and what to look out for. We discuss whether it is useful to programme training according to cycle phase and touch briefly on birth control.
