Episode 33  - For all THE PLAYERS

GRQotW32
Player A walks the course on the morning of their individual stroke round. During this process they are holding and swinging a golf club, placing their feet in positions on the fairway and putting greens they are about to play, no ball was placed on the ground. They arrive at the tee just before their starting time, and say to Player B, before either of them play ‘it is very wet out there, probably best that you hit the ball low to keep it from embedding itself and potentially being lost. On this first hole, I would take the line close to the right trees.’ Player A incurs how many penalty strokes?  Player A incurs no penalties.  The player did not practice on the course before their round. Walking the course and simulating a stance is not considered practice.  Players are welcome to share advice before they start their round. Such advice would be seen as strategy, and there is no limit to that.

Viktor Hovland hit his ball into a penalty area on the 11th hole, but wasn’t sure if it had crossed to the green-side of the penalty area before coming back into the water. A referee on the spot told him that there was no virtual certainty that the ball had crossed, and that it had more than likely hit the wooden retaining wall which was inside the penalty area. Hovland was just about to drop when someone who had been watching PGA Tour Live alerted the referee and showed everyone that the ball had in fact crossed on the green side.
