This is the story of Flavia and her dancing queen Kristy. Flavia shares with us the beautiful spirit of her daughter Kristy. They share an incredible mother/daughter love that shines through so brightly as Flavia talks about Kristy's time spent here. Kristy was developing into a strong young woman, she had immense love for family, friends, shopping, animals and was making her way in the world. She shared a close bond with her older brother Sean and had become a proud big sister to Taylah.In late October 2004 Kristy was 17 years old and was excited to go on a camping trip with her boyfriend, her first time away on her own. Kristy was involved in a jet ski accident that saw her placed in an induced coma. Sadly Kristy's life on earth ended in November 2004, surrounded by those she loved.Flavia shares how grief has altered her forever and changed her perspective on the world around her. She has been able to discover the collateral beauty born through her grief and over the years life has shown her that she has a lot of wisdom to impart learnt from her grief. Flavia explains the touch and hugs are the feelings that are missed the most and the pain knowing that there is no way to have that back.Prior to our recording Flavia shared photos and stories of Kristy. We had a beautiful day together, there was a special energy in the room and we really felt like we got to know Kristy. In the photos Flavia shared of Kristy it was clear she had a smile that makes you smile, she wasn't afraid to show her love for those she loved and there was a sense of happiness and fun within the moments captured in time.
