As someone that loves watching movies, I do have a love-hate relationship with action films and the tiresome stereotypes they continue to showcase about women and toxic masculinity. So I decided to rant about it with my beautiful film fanatic / partner / roommate - Daniel.
During this RANT MONDAY episode we spoke about women continually being used as props in action movies and how the toxic men are always seen as irresistible to every women in sight.
We wondered:
- Why do action movies always have unnecessary love stories - are women only there so the 'hero' has someone to make out with in the end of the film?
- Why are women always wearing heels and never wearing hair ties in fight scenes?
- Are there any action movies that aren't problematic AF?
