Non-Profit Podcast Series: Seniors First

This episode of the Non-Profit Podcast Series is with Stephanie Vierstra, Executive Director of Seniors First. Serving some of the most vulnerable to Covid-19, Seniors First is the primary source of food and other necessary services serving those 65 and over. This is an outstanding community program that continues to support seniors in the Placer Sierra region. The virus has so impacted the organization that they've lost all their van drivers as they were all over the age of 65. Nearly a third of the staff has had to be quarantined in spite of being an essential service. This leaves them with a greater need and that is, as a result of the limited delivery capability, they now must prepare food to last for multiple days since daily deliveries are not an option on the reduced staff. Seniors First is also the "Meals on Wheels" provider for Placer County as well.
