Welcome to the Orgasm Lab, my name is Amy Nasseri, and in this first episode, you are going to hear my personal orgasm journey, all of it, and spoiler alert, it has a happy ending. But before I do that, I want to share with you some interesting statistics about orgasms. Did you know that on average 95% of straight men experience an orgasm during sex? Every woman listening is like, "Yeah, like tell us something we didn't know." Okay. So, what's the percentage for women? Well, studies report that a mere 65% of straight women experience an orgasm during a sexual experience.
But there are a lot of researchers out there that believe that this number in reality is a lot lower. In fact, 40% of women in one study said that they found difficult reaching orgasm frequently. Okay. So, maybe just over half of us women are able to experience an orgasm during sex. But did you know that there are some of us out there who never reach orgasm at all? Close to 15% of straight women never reach orgasm under any circumstances, 15% of us women out there, and probably more, who aren't able to experience an orgasm no matter what they try.
But there's more, some of us struggle to ever feel aroused. There's also thousands of women out there who experienced an extraordinary amount of pain during sex. There are some women who suffer from close to constant genital arousal. I'm about to share my story of orgasm dysfunction, but what's clear from these numbers that we've just heard is that mine isn't the only one out there. The orgasm gap is real. I think it's about high time that we take this gap seriously and apply the necessary care and expert input. Thanks for listening, friends.
