Brad Smeele is a professional wakeboarder from New Zealand. After leaving home at 17 to pursue his dream of wakeboarding, Brad made a name for himself in the sport after claiming 2 junior world titles and being one of the first to land a 1080 behind the boat. Most will know Brad for being the first person in the world to land the double tantrum to blind and winning the 2014 trick of the year.
Whilst filming for "Prime" during a session at Lake Ronix, Brad took a bad crash trying the double to blind which left him without the use of his arms and legs.
It was an honour to be able to have the opportunity to talk with Brad about how he dealt with the life changing result of the injury, overcoming some of the obstacles he faced and how he is now living life to the fullest despite his injury. We hope you enjoy this episode.
