The Unfiltered Real Talk Podcast
The Unfiltered Real Talk Podcast

In today's episode, my guest and I sit down for a real talk on racism and parenting black children in the diaspora. My guest is Christina Monfort,  a mother of two children who were elite athletes in their high school and college years. The conversation highlights the first-hand experiences of my guest in the 80s and 90s in Canada and that of her children in more recent times. We discuss the many contributions of black people in Canadian history and identify how government systems, in particular the Canadian education system can leverage these contributions in classroom discussions and curriculum. Also in our conversation are tips for parenting and preparing black children for life in the diaspora, which is based on my guest's personal experience. This episode is loaded with tools and information for parenting young black children and offers different insights into dealing with racism, cultural identification and more.
