7. God-Confident

We see them everywhere; we hear them all the time…what am I talking about? Quotes along the lines of: “Just believe in yourself.” And “if you believe in yourself, anything is possible!” And “You can do anything if you just put your mind to it!”

Self-Confidence is such a buzz word today, that I'm sure if we were to look up "self-esteem" or "self-confidence" online, we would find website after website saying something along the lines of, “25 ways to build your self-esteem” or “10 ways to boost your self-confidence quickly.”

I'm sure the people who originally spoke these quotes have good intentions and good hearts and in our culture, we buy into the self-confidence lines. I mean, who wouldn't want want to be happier, make better decisions, build confidence, fulfill their dreams and live out who they were created to be?

However, there is a huge problem. We are putting all of our hope, all of our trust, all of our confidence in ourselves and not in the one who created us.

I don't know about you, but I'm probably not the best place to be putting my confidence. Sometimes, thought I try not to live by my emotions, I'm up one minute and down the next. It's not very stable ground.
