Anika Abel the proud owner of Nick’s Phonics Centre that was opened in 2015. She has been teaching children ages 2 years old to adult for over twenty years in the private system.
In 2017 she received second prize for her business pitch at Young Leaders of the Americas Initiative – YLAI (Guyana) local competition hosted by Abbigale Loncke.
In 2018 she won first prize at the Business Plan Pitch Competition hosted by the School of Entrepreneurship and Business Innovation in Guyana (University of Guyana).
In 2019 she received a Brand Youth Award for her outstanding contribution towards molding Guyana’s children at the Forty Under 40 Entrepreneurial Award ceremony.
In 2020 she is the first Guyanese who won the AIM Startup Competition in Guyana.
She is currently the Vice President of Education for Cacique Toastmasters Club.
